food & drink

Roast meatAt the Somerset Arms we are very keen to use at much local produce as possible. All of our meat, vegetables and dairy produce are farmed locally and our fish is delivered fresh. We try to keep our menu seasonal and our chefs cook everything to order from fresh.

We have an extensive wine list with wines from all over the world. Whether you prefer a cool crisp dry white or a full flavoured 'big' red, there is something for everyone. Prices start at £12.90 a bottle and a good selection can be bought by the glass.

We try to encourage children to be a little adventurous and try a smaller portion from our main menu. However we understand that some little people find this daunting and so a children's menu is available, again using the very best produce.

at the bar

We pride ourselves on the fastidious manner in which we manage our cellar. We currently offer four cask ales and are not tied to any one brewery. Bath Ales Gem is our mainstay with Box Steams Golden Bolt usually running alongside. We then like to offer two 'guest beers' from one of the many local breweries. Every barrel is treated with utmost care following a complicated process to enable us to pull the perfect pint at the correct temperature.

The bar at The Somerset ArmsAlongside the cask ales sit a varied selection of draught lagers including Amstel, San Miguel, Heineken and Fosters, two ciders, Stowford Press and Bath Cider 'Bounders' and extra cold Guiness. There is a wide choice of bottled beers and ciders available too.

We have just extended our wine list, a large selection of red, white and rose from which to choose and many that can be bought by the glass.

All the usual spirits are stocked behind the bar but there are also some surprising additions. Zubrowka Bison Grass Vodka and Sailor Jerry's Vanilla & Lime rum have become very popular and there is also a grand selection of whiskeys and brandys available together with Calvados and Benedictine.
